In just the tenth game of his NBA career, Ja Morant was celebrating his first game-winner after sinking a clutch layup against the Charlotte Hornets.
"It definitely felt good… It was just coach called the play call, they switched and I just attacked," Morant on hitting the game-winner.
In what was easily the best game of his rookie season so far, Morant finished with 23 points on 10-of-15 shooting and a career-high 11 assists in just 30 minutes of action.
The 119-117 win ensured the Grizzlies won consecutive games for the first time this season - both of which came on the road - as the first of the two wins came in San Antonio.
The clutch shot and the career game was much more special as his dad was on hand in the arena .
"Brother, brother. Dad, son." Morant said postgame about his relationship with his father.

Not to mention the fact that Morant is a South Carolina native, hailing from a town that isn't too far from Charlotte.
"I definitely head the support," he said about his jerseys in the arena. "I didn't get to like look around and stuff, I was focused on the game. But to have them come out and show the support here two hours away - that's love."
With the No. 1 pick Zion Williamson sidelined with an injury, Morant has been making the most of the opportunity and building a solid Rookie of the Year case for himself.
In his 10 games so far, he's averaging 18.3 points, 5.8 assists , and 3.3 rebounds on 48.3% shooting from the field.
