Opening week of the 2019-20 NBA season continued with nine games on Saturday.

Toronto Raptors 106, Boston Celtics 112

A 19-8 run over the final 6:30 of play has helped the Celtics secure their first win of the 2019-20 season.

When Serge Ibaka nailed a triple with 6:45 to play, the Raptors held a 98-93 lead, before the Celtics run began.

A balanced offence spearheaded the win for Boston, with Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown each pouring in 25 points, while Kemba Walker added 22 in his first official home game with the franchise.

Pascal Siakam continued his hot start to the season, finishing with 33 points and eight rebounds, while Kyle Lowry dropped 29 points.

Minnesota Timberwolves 121, Charlotte Hornets 99

The Charlotte Hornets had absolutely no answer for Karl-Anthony Towns, as the Timberwolves ran away in the second half to post a 121-99 win.

Towns was simply dominant from the outset, finishing the night with 37 points, 15 rebounds, eight assists, four steals and two blocks. After a slow start, Minnesota went into the half holding a slender two-point lead, before a 45-25 outburst in the third blew the game wide open.

Andrew Wiggins added 16 points for the Timberwolves, while Devonte Graham led the Hornets in scoring with 24 points.

New York Knicks 109, Brooklyn Nets 113

Kyrie Irving backed up his 50-point Brooklyn debut by nailing the game winning go-ahead triple with 21.9 seconds left.

The shot came with the Nets trailing 109-108 and secured Brooklyn's first win of the season against their New York rivals. The Nets almost let the game slip away after holdng a 13-point lead at the half, before the clutch bucket from Irving.

Irving finished the night with 26 points and five assists, while Spencer Dinwiddie added 20 points and 5 assists off the bench. Allonzo Trier led all scorers for New York, with 22 points.

Chicago Bulls 110, Memphis Grizzlies 102

The Chicago Bulls have come from behind to defeat the Memphis Grizzlies on the road. The Bulls outscroed the Grizzlies 31-21 in the fourth the take the win.

Zach LaVine was huge for Chicago, pouring in a game-high 37 points to go with six rebounds and four assists, while Coby White dropped 25 points in just his second NBA game.

Jaren Jackson Jr. posted a 23 point, 11 rebound double-double for the Grizzlies who are now 0-2 on the season.

Dallas Mavericks 123, New Orleans Pelicans 116

A banked triple from Luka Doncic with 1:23 left to play iced a big road win for the Dallas Mavericks, who now move to 2-0 on the season for the first time since 2004.

Doncic posted a 25 point, 10 rebound, 10 assists triple-double on the night, further cementing his place as one of the games young stars. Kristaps Porzingis was impressive once again, as his return from ACL surgery continues. Porzingis would pour in 24 points in 29 minutes of action.

With Zion Williamson still sidelined, the Pelicans are now 0-2 on the season. Brandon Ingram led all scorers for New Orleans with 25 points.

Washington Wizards 97, Oklahoma City Thunder 85

The Washington Wizards have picked up an impressive road win in Oklahoma City, finishing strong to win 97-85.

The Thunder struggled to slow down Wizards big man, Thomas Bryant, who threw down multiple highflying dunks on his way to a 21 points, 11 rebound performance. Rookie, Rui Hachimura added 19 points for Washington, while Bradley Beal chipped in with 17.

Rising star, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander had another monster line, putting up 28 points, seven rebounds and four assists for the Thunder.

Phoenix Suns 107, Denver Nuggets 108 (OT)

The Denver Nuggets hung on in overtime to secure a wild win at the Pepsi Center as Torrey Craig blocked Devin Booker's shot at the buzzer to seal the win for the home team.

Nikola Jokic posted a 23 points, 14 rebound, 12 assist triple-double in the win, while Jamal Murray added 27 points.

Kelly Oubre Jr. led the scoring for the Suns with 23 points, while Frank Kaminsky added 19 points and 11 rebounds. Aron Baynes finished with 15 points and seven rebounds in 29 minutes of court time.

Portland Trail Blazers 122, Sacramento Kings 112

Damian Lillard went off for 35 points, five assists and five rebounds, scoring 13 of his 35 points in the final quarter without missing a shot!

Los Angeles Lakers 95, Utah Jazz 86

BOX SCORE | PLAY-BY-PLAY

LeBron James went for 32 points, 10 assists and seven rebounds while Anthony Davis finished with 21 points, seven rebounds, five blocks (!), two assists and two steals as the tandem picked up their first win of the season in their home opener.

They also connected on a number of alley-oops, something NBA fans should get used to seeing.
