Stephen Curry breaks his own NBA record, becomes fastest ever to 300 3-pointers for a season

With his first 3-pointer in Tuesday night's game against the Pelicans in New Orleans, Stephen Curry knocked down his 300th 3-pointer of the season.

This is the fourth time that the former two-time league MVP has surpassed the 300 3-pointers landmark, all in the last six seasons.

En route to reaching this milestone, he broke his own record for the fewest games required to knock down 300 3-pointers.

This year, he's done so in 58 games, one less than his 59-game all-time record from the 2015-16 and 2018-19 seasons.

Along with James Harden, Curry is one of only two players to nail at least 300 3-pointers in a single season. He now owns four of the top five single-season three-point marks in NBA history including the 402 mark he set in his unanimous MVP campaign.

Given his red-hot form, arguably the greatest shooter in NBA history was going to knock down more than one 3-pointer for the game. And in doing so, with his sixth of the game, he crossed the 2,800 career 3-pointers mark.
