Street Ball League Season 1: Melvin Louis owned Hotsteppers win the women's division; Hemant Manglani owned Old School Ballers win the men's category

This past weekend (Dec. 7-8), the knockout stages of season 1 of the Street Ball League went down at the Podar Sports Ground in Mumbai.

Women's category

The Melvin Louis-owned Hotsteppers finished as the top team at the end of the league stage, winning five of their six league games. 

That set them up against the second-seeded Hoop Heads in the finals of the women's category. The Hoop Heads, owned by Esha Gupta & Devarsh Thaker, finished second in the league stage by going 3-3.

Anshika Kanojia, who was later named Rising Stars in the women's category, top-scored with 15 points to help the Hoststeppers clinch the Finals with a scoreline of 31-22. 

Men's category

The Old School Ballers, the team that finished 5th after the league stages, was crowned champions of the men's category after they defeated the Flying Panthers in the Final 50-44. 

The Flying Panthers, who were the sixth seed after the league stage, and were led by Fardeen Khan's 17 points. On the other hand, Saurabh Nishar was the top scorer for the Ballers with 17 too. 

Sayyed Yusuf (Southside Warriors) and Yash Shetty (Hoop Heads) were named the Rising Stars in the Men's category.
