Toronto Raptors Marc Gasol, Pascal Siakam and Norman Powell out indefinitely after suffering injuries vs. Detroit Pistons

In a team injury update released late on Friday, the Toronto Raptors have announced that the reigning Most Improved Player of the Year Pascal Siakam, centre Marc Gasol and guard Norman Powell are all out indefinitely.

While Gasol left the Pistons game in the first quarter, the duo of Siakam and Powell suffered their respective injuries in the fourth quarter of the team's 112-99 road win against the Detroit Pistons on Thursday.

As per the update, Siakam 'sustained a stretched groin after an awkward landing' with 6:47 left in the final period of that game. This failed dunk attempt by Pistons seems to be the play that the 25-year-old Cameroonian suffered the injury:

Siakam did go on to play the rest of the game and finished with an invaluable 26 points and four blocks. In 27 games this season, Siakam is averaging career-highs across the board with 25.1 points, 8.0 rebounds, and 3.6 assists in 36.6 minutes.

Powell left the game immediately on collision with another player with 3:17 left to play in the fourth quarter. As per the team's update, following testing in Toronto, he has 'sustained a subluxation of the left shoulder'.

Prior to leaving the game, Powell had nine points, three rebounds and three assists. Over 27 games, he has averaged 14.4 points and 3.9 rebounds on 49.3% shooting from the field in 17.9 minutes.

The update also stated that Marc Gasol had strained his left hamstring and has been ruled out indefinitely.

More updates to come as they are made available.
