Carmelo Anthony wants one more shot at the NBA as he looks to re-write the final years of his career.

The 35-year-old has not played in the NBA since he was moved on from the Houston Rockets after a brief 10-game stint last season and according to his trainer Chris Brickley, Melo is '100 percent' NBA ready and wants to go out on his own terms with a farewell tour.

"He's easily better with 60 percent, 70 percent of NBA players walking around," Brickley said in an interview with The Breakfast Club.

"I think teams are afraid of, 'I want to be the star,' or 'I want this.' That's not the case, though. Melo just wants to have a final season, farewell season, do what D-Wade did. Do the jersey swap. He had a great career, he's a Hall of Famer. So hopefully that can happen."

Brickley has become the go-to man for NBA off-season workouts, hosting famed pick-up runs in New York, with Melo working out with the likes of Trae Young, Donovan Mitchell, J.R. Smith, Dennis Smith Jr. and others throughout the summer.

Portland Trail Blazers star Damian Lillard also chimed in on Melo's situation, tweeting his desire to see him play one more season in the Association, however it is unlikely to be with the Blazers.

Melo's last two stops in Houston and Oklahoma City proved to be complicated fits on court, with the 10-time All-Star shooting 40.5 percent from the field and 32.8 percent from three in Houston and 40.4 percent from the field and 35.6 percent from three in OKC.

His former teammate Chauncey Billups earlier this month speculated that Melo remained unsigned due to an unwillingness to accept a smaller role at this point in his career.

Will we see Melo back in the league next season?
