For the third consecutive season, the NBA's trade deadline will come before its All-Star Weekend.

When is the trade deadline for the 2019-20 NBA season? The trade deadline for the 2019-20 NBA season falls on Feb. 7, 2020 at 12:30 AM.

The deadline falls at that time as teams will have until 12:30 AM IST to finalize deals in preparation for the final stretch of the NBA season.

Last season, the 2019 trade deadline was an active one - a number of teams made moves to bolster their rosters, with the eventual champion Toronto Raptors making a splash by acquiring Marc Gasol, a starter throughout their championship run.

Other league powers like the Milwaukee Bucks, Philadelphia 76ers, Houston Rockets and Portland Trail Blazers also made moves ahead of last season's deadline to better prepare themselves for the postseason.

Similar to years past, it should come as no surprise if and when teams on the verge of contention make moves - whether they are big or small - in order to perfect their roster to compete for a title. A late-season trade could be the difference in matchups, seeding and home-court advantage.

This upcoming season, the trade deadline comes eight days prior to the 2020 NBA All-Star Weekend, which begins on Feb. 15 in Chicago, IL. With the 2020 NBA Playoffs beginning just over two months later on April 19, teams will have a fair amount of time to integrate the pieces that they work to acquire at the deadline.
