The WNBA Draft 2020 will have the sporting spotlight all to itself on Saturday, April 18, 2020, when the league will conduct its annual draft virtually due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
“The WNBA Draft is a time to celebrate the exceptional athletes whose hard work and dreams are realized with their selections in the draft,” WNBA commissioner Cathy Engelbert said in a statement.

“Safeguarding the health and wellbeing of our prospects, players, employees, and everyone connected to our game as well as the general public is paramount.
"With that in mind, we will work diligently with our broadcast partner, ESPN, to create a memorable but virtual event that appropriately honours these accomplished athletes.”
All eyes will be glued to the WNBA Draft with dreams being achieved and plenty of potential for player movement through the three-round entry draft.

All three rounds of the WNBA Draft will take place virtually on Saturday, April 18 with live coverage of the draft beginning at 5:00 am IST on NBA League Pass.
Where is the WNBA Draft 2020?
The draft will take place virtually after initially being scheduled to take place at the WNBA's headquarters in New York City.
"This virtual draft allows players who have worked so hard to have their dreams realized when they hear their names called and provides teams the opportunity to build their rosters in anticipation of the day that we are able to move forward with our season," commissioner Engelbert said in a release.
WNBA Draft 2020 pick order
The WNBA Draft order was determined via a draft lottery. The draft lottery was held on September 17, 2019, with the New York Liberty earning the first overall pick. The Liberty had the best chances to win the lottery with 44.2% odds of winning the first selection in the draft.
The draft lottery odds were based on each team's combined records from the 2018 and 2019 seasons. The Liberty had a combined record of 17-51. The Dallas Wings, who had the third-best odds (17.8%) to win the lottery, will select second. The Wings also hold four of the top nine picks in the draft.
